Electronic Stability Program[1](ESP)
The standard Electronic Stability Program(ESP)[1] is designed to assist drivers in maintaining control of their vehicles during extreme steering maneuvers. ESP[1] senses when a vehicle is starting to spin (oversteer) or plow (understeer), and attempts to correct the vehicle's course by automatically controlling the throttle and applying the brakes at individual wheels.

Antilock Braking
Four-wheel antilock disc brakes are standard and equipped with electronic sensors to prevent wheel lockup, offering improved steering control under extreme braking, sudden stopping, or slippery conditions. Durango also features the largest brake rotors in its class[2] for improved repeat stopping performance under heavy load and steep decline situations.

All-Speed Traction Control
Traction control is tuned for on-road activity during normal operation. It helps maintain traction by applying the brakes and in some cases closing the throttle to minimize wheel spin during acceleration.

All-Wheel Drive
Added safety is a standard. Durango features two available All-Wheel Drive (AWD) electronic shift transfer cases—single and two-speed—that provide standard full-time AWD capability from a dash-mounted switch.[3] Set the dial to AWD for everyday driving. Flip it to 4LOCK on slippery or uneven roads. Or use the available 4LO in low-speed, low-traction situations.

ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System[4]
The available ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System[4] uses sound waves to detect nearby obstacles in and near the rear path of the vehicle to help you maneuver in tight spaces at parking speeds. Audio-visual indicators in the overhead display in the rear of the vehicle alert you to the proximity of most larger, stationary objects that might be outside your line of sight.

- Always check entire surroundings before backing up.
Trailer Sway Control
Tow your boat or trailer more safely and easily with the new trailer sway control system. When it detects trailer sway, it slows both vehicle and trailer by reducing engine torque and increasing brake force to one side; this helps counteract sway from the trailer.

- Properly secure all cargo
Tire-Pressure Monitoring System
Maintaining proper tire pressure is paramount for optimal safety, performance and fuel economy. The tire-pressure monitoring system automatically checks each tire for proper inflation and alerts the driver if low or excess pressure is detected.
